3-D sound: Basic principles, overview of methods,
history of auralisation. Commercial 3-D
sound systems: Dolby surround, thx, Q-sound, Roland Sensaura
etc.
Binaural recording and synthesis: Obtaining correct
eardrum sound pressure, headphone
equalisation, HRTF models, HRTF measurements, verification, and implementational
issues.
Auralisation: Sound field modelling, room impulse response
prediction and auralisation,
verification, implementational issues.
Virtual Reality: Immersion, interaction, multi modal
environments, dynamic factors, freefield
and reverberant environments, verification, implementing.
